The Sloths Have Gone Digital

The sloths have gone digital, they’ve escaped into the mainframe. I repeat, the sloths have gone digital. Digitally painted slothscape coming at you from right here in good old Omaha, NE.

This is my first foray into digital painting, and I think the whole process is seriously cool. When you think about it, there’s no clean up, it’s easy to erase or step back or even just delete layers, and you can do it in a moving vehicle. So basically it’s exactly the opposite of painting with oils. Don’t get me wrong, I still love to paint on real canvas with real paint, but in the artistic slump I was experiencing prior to the evolution of slothscapes demanded exploration of a number of media, and thus far I have explored collage and printmaking.

When presented with an opportunity to utilize digital painting technology, I thought: “Let’s explore digital art with sloths!”(my answer to David Sedaris’ ‘Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls’) I really enjoyed creating this painting, and I absolutely love how it digitally creates brushstrokes.

The consensus: Highly recommend.

Digital art: Libby tested, Sloth Approved.
